Therapy for Men in Scottsdale: Support Through Divorce, Separation, and Everything in Between
When Everything Feels Like It’s Falling Apart—But You’re Still Expected to Hold It Together
If you’re a man facing separation or divorce, you’re likely overwhelmed, angry, numb—or all three. You don’t need a lecture. You need clarity, support, and a plan.
You’re Not Alone in This
Divorce and separation can feel like personal failures, but they’re more than that—they’re identity crises. You’re trying to stay calm, manage responsibilities, protect your kids (if you have them), and keep it together emotionally—even when you’re not okay.
Whether you initiated it or it hit you unexpectedly, you’re likely questioning everything:
What happened to us?
Am I the bad guy here?
How do I move forward without wrecking myself—or my kids?
Let’s talk about that. Without judgment. Without BS.
How Therapy Can Help
This isn’t about venting. It’s about understanding what went wrong, how it impacted you, and how to stop dragging old patterns into whatever comes next.
In therapy, we’ll:
Unpack the dynamics that brought you here (yes, including your part)
Make sense of what’s happening emotionally—especially if you’ve been shut down for a while
Build tools to communicate better, respond instead of react, and keep your integrity intact
Help you grieve what’s ending and figure out what you actually want moving forward
What You’ll Take Away From Therapy
Being a Man in This Situation Is Different—Here’s Why
Most men weren’t taught how to process pain, let alone talk about it. You’re expected to keep it together, stay strong, and not let anything show—even when everything inside you is unraveling.
Maybe you’re angry. Burned out. Shut down. Overwhelmed. Maybe no matter what you say or do, it feels like it’s the wrong thing—and you’re tired of being seen as the problem.
This is what a lot of men bring into therapy. And that’s exactly where we start.
My approach is relational and direct. That means we’ll look at what’s really happening—without fluff, without blame, and without making you feel like you’re broken. I won’t ask you to spill your soul if you’re not ready, but I will help you make sense of what’s going on and why it hits so hard.
We’ll unpack what’s led to this moment, explore the patterns that might be playing out again and again, and figure out how to move forward in a way that actually aligns with the man you want to be.
You don’t have to be perfect here. You just have to be willing to show up—even if you don’t know where to start.

Nicole Babb, MA, LAMFT, PhD Candidate, Owner
Hi, I’m Nicole
I help men navigate some of the most emotionally brutal moments of their lives—especially around separation, divorce, and high-conflict relationships.
I’m not here to judge, shame, or hand you a list of things to fix. I’m here to slow things down, get curious about what’s really going on underneath the anger or shutdown, and help you start responding instead of reacting.
My style is relational, psychodynamic, and grounded in deep respect for how people are shaped by their past—and how they can change when they finally feel safe enough to stop bracing for impact.
A lot of men I work with are used to keeping everything in. Therapy gives them space to finally let it out, figure out what they want, and stop living in reaction mode.
If that sounds like something you’re ready for, I’d be honored to walk with you through it.
